DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nWhat's involved\n\nDuring this 3-day event you'll:\n\n\nwork with UQ experts to understand the power of the human imagination\nanalyse key passages and themes in the work of Dante\, Homer\, and Virgil\nenjoy a ghost tour of the Toowong Cemetery delivered by Ghost Tours Australia\ntake part in a workshop on presentation skills and performing poetry\, run by a professional theatre company\nview Jean Cocteau’s Orphée\, a reimagining of the Orpheus myth set in 1950s Paris.\n\n\nEligibility\n\n\nHigh school students in Year 11 and Year 12\nInterstate applicants are welcome\n\n\nCost\n\n\nThe Winter School is free to attend.\nAccommodation and full-board during the Winter School are provided.\nTravel subsidies for students who are travelling from over 400 km away from Brisbane are available.\n\n\nHow to apply\n\n\nApply via the application portal linked above.\nOn the form\, you'll be asked about your motivation for applying for the Winter School.\nThere are limited places available.\n\n\nContact\n\nEmail westernciv@uq.edu.au. \n
