What's involved
The Young Achievers Program requires the support and commitment of your parents or guardians, and your school.
Giving back
We aim to equip students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to reach their potential and make a difference, for their families, schools and communities.

Community Venture Project
Each year, Young Achievers embark on a project designed to make a positive impact on their school or local community. Students choose their own project, developing and showcasing it through a poster that highlights their impact, learnings and skills they’ve gained. Throughout the process, students receive ongoing support and guidance.

Mentoring
Our mentors are current university students who support Young Achievers through their senior years. Many mentors are former Young Achievers themselves. They take pride in giving back by sharing their experiences and inspiring current program participants. Their work also contributes to the UQ Employability Award.

My experience with the program is one of lasting friendships, a sense of community, and growing self-assurance, not to mention instrumental financial support and an accommodation scholarship. The program has given me the means and confidence to move from a small country town to UQ in pursuit of my interests in anthropology and the social sciences.
