Challenge yourself and become an exemplary leader, ready for whatever the future brings in an increasingly diversified and rapidly-changing business environment.

The world’s economies are changing – from product and commodity-based to experience and serviced-based. These changes require adjustments to the way we lead and manage every aspect of business.

UQ's fully online Master of Leadership and Innovation addresses the critical issues facing managers, such as digital disruption, automation, AI, socio-demographic changes, and geopolitical shifts. The program combines several important challenges, including foundational principles that are critical to understand in the experience-based economy and the importance of embedding a culture of customer experience. It also explores value co-creation in a service and experience context, embedding continuous innovation, enabling the execution of new ideas to create value for all stakeholders and the growing field of digital service deliver platforms

As you personally engage in applying theory to practice, you'll benefit from UQ's blending of contemporary research and best practices in effective business leadership. You’ll experience the principles of innovation, service science and management, along with customer experience foundations and design through courses delivered by some of the most future-focused educators in Australia.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for entry, you'll need:

  • a bachelor honour's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or
  • a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), plus 2 years full-time equivalent work experience in a dedicated supervisory/management role (of people or projects), or
  • a bachelor's degree (or equivalent), plus 3 years full-time equivalent work experience in a dedicated supervisory/management role (of people or projects), or
  • a graduate certificate or graduate diploma in a relevant discipline (see below), or
  • a UQx or edX MicroMasters® credential in a relevant discipline (see below), plus 2 years full-time equivalent work experience in a dedicated supervisory/management role (of people or projects).
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.

Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications

Relevant disciplines include accounting, advertising, business, business administration, commercialisation, data analytics, economics, event management, finance, health services/health practitioners, hotel or tourism management, international business, international development/international relations, information systems, innovation management, marketing, management, operations/project management, strategy, sustainability, technology (agricultural, information, nano, bio).

Relevant work experience

Applicants with a bachelor degree or MicroMasters® credential must submit a CV demonstrating evidence of work experience in a dedicated managerial/supervisory role (management of people or projects).

English language requirements

IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.

TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5.

Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
