Project description
Trust in Australian democracy has weakened over the last two decades. Part of this erosion of trust stems from the increasing spending on political donations, the growing amount of lobbying, and the movement of individuals between positions of public office and jobs in the same private sector. This project expects to generate new knowledge on how industry translates economic power into political influence. The project team will include two PhD students co-supervised by Nyberg and Fleming and enrolled at the partnering institutions—one at the UQ and one at the UTS. The two PhD students will form a central part of the international collaborations.
