Project description

This project is aligned with a recently awarded MRFF research grant. It offers you the opportunity to work with leading researchers at The University of Queensland and contribute to a major project of national significance.

This project will mainly focus on the application of health economic methods to understand the cost-effectiveness and benefits associated with innovative models of health service delivery in rural areas. Project outcomes will include the capacity for local health service providers to ensure the sustainability of these new models of health service delivery and continuity of access to quality healthcare for rural communities.

Scholarship

This is an Earmarked scholarship project that aligns with a recently awarded Australian Government grant.

The scholarship includes:

  • living stipend of $35,000 per annum tax free (2024 rate), indexed annually
  • your tuition fees covered
  • single overseas student health cover (OSHC).

Preferred educational background

Your application will be assessed on a competitive basis.

  • previous academic record
  • publication record
  • honours and awards
  • employment history.

A working knowledge of health economics and experience using linked administrative data would be of benefit to someone working on this project.

You will demonstrate academic achievement in the field(s) of health economics (or other relevant discipline) and the potential for scholastic success.

A background or knowledge of the Australian primary care environment is highly desirable.
