Paris-compliance: assessing companies and portfolios using data science

Project description

This PhD project will focus on increasing the data accuracy of corporate greenhouse gas emissions using advanced data science skills. Examining how to best facilitate the assessment of companies through interactive data, the project will provide for the public assessment of the Paris alignment of companies through a web-based platform. The project will also examine how the platforms use can be encouraged to be used to allow climate-safe decisions by society.

Scholarship

This is an Earmarked scholarship project that aligns with a recently awarded Australian Government grant.

The scholarship includes:

  • living stipend of $35,000 per annum tax free (2024 rate), indexed annually
  • your tuition fees covered
  • single overseas student health cover (OSHC).

  • honours and awards
  • employment history.

A working knowledge of data science, computer science, and environmental/climate science would be of benefit to someone working on this project.

You will demonstrate academic achievement in the field(s) of data science, computer science, environmental/climate science and the potential for scholastic success.

This project requires candidates to commence no later than Research Quarter 1, 2025. To allow time for your application to be processed, we recommend applying no later than 30 September, 2024 30 June, 2024.
