Analyse social change and investigate patterns of social behaviour as you gain the critical and analytical skills to build evidence-based findings on the pressing issues of our time.
You'll complete compulsory coursework that will expose you to social science traditions, theories and contemporary issues. You're encouraged to think strategically about your own research and career pathways.
An honours research thesis is the major component of this program. You'll complete a substantial research project under the guidance of a supervisor. This includes developing your research questions, applying appropriate methodologies and presenting your written conclusions.

In honours I had more freedom and so much to learn. The year made me fall in love with research and become really passionate and interested in my thesis topic about youth homelessness policies in Australia.
I developed two co-authored publications from my honours thesis (and a third is still a work in progress). I have contributed to literature on developing conceptualisations of children's wellbeing and methodologies for researching with children.
