Central Queensland – Wide Bay Regional Medical pathway - location eligibility

The Central Queensland – Wide Bay Regional Medical Pathway is a rural medical program available to domestic Doctor of Medicine applicants.

As part of the application process for this pathway, applicants will be considered for entry on the following criteria:

  • Tier 1: applicants from Central Queensland (CQ) or Wide Bay (WB)
  • Tier 2: applicants with a rural background
  • Tier 3: any other interested applicants.

To be considered for tier 1 selection, you must have lived in the below local government areas (LGAs) and towns for 5 consecutive years, or 10 years cumulatively.
