Application dates

Understand when you need to apply by for entry into a research program.

To apply, you will need to submit:

  1. an initial expression of interest (EOI), to ensure a supervisor will support your research
  2. a final application, if invited after the supervisor reviews your EOI.

The deadlines to submit your EOI or final application will depend on whether you’re applying for a UQ scholarship or project with a specific closing date.

Generally, you will need to apply at least 6 months before starting at UQ to allow enough time for your Australian student visa to be processed. Plan for visa processing to take approximately 12 weeks. You must receive an offer before you can apply for a visa.
