ATAR guarantee

Secure your place at UQ for Semester 1, 2026.

The ATAR guarantee is not available for students intending to study at UQ on a student visa. International students studying high school in Australia are also not eligible.

Visit the program page to see the minimum entry score for your preferred program.

If you can't meet the minimum entry score, we have programs that can help.

Guaranteed entry

We offer guaranteed entry to most undergraduate programs based on minimum ATAR thresholds, giving you certainty when applying to UQ so you can focus on planning for 2026 and beyond.

If you're a domestic student receiving an ATAR, selection rank or International Baccalaureate score, you'll be considered for guaranteed entry. You don't need to be a current high school student.

International students studying high school in Australia aren't eligible for the guarantee.

What you'll need to do

If your QTAC preferences include a UQ undergraduate program, you will automatically be considered for the ATAR guarantee. You don’t need to do anything extra.

Find your program

Find your preferred program below and check the guaranteed entry score for Semester 1, 2026.

Check the requirements

Make sure you meet any prerequisites or other entry requirements. Check the program page for details.

Apply

Apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and list the UQ program you most want to study as your first preference.

Boost your score with adjustments

Our guaranteed thresholds include adjustments, which can increase your entry score. You may be eligible for adjustments based on your background and personal circumstances.

Find your program

These guaranteed entry scores are for Semester 1, 2026 only and will apply for offers made up until the main offer round in January 2026.

Some programs have limited places, so their guaranteed entry score has been set high. Programs that are highly competitive, or have other entry requirements, won't have a guarantee.

What if I don't meet the guaranteed ATAR?

Don't worry! You may still receive an offer to your preferred program, even if you don't achieve the guaranteed entry score.

As a guide, check the entry score threshold on the program page to see the lowest adjusted score we made an offer to in the previous year.
