Select which program type you'll apply for.
Exchange
You can apply as an exchange student if your home university:
- is one of our exchange partners, and
- has nominated you for exchange.
Contact your home university to find out how to be nominated for exchange to UQ.
You'll pay tuition fees to your home university. Find out more from the international exchange office at your university.
Once you've been nominated, follow the steps to choose courses and submit your application to UQ.
Study abroad
Study abroad is available to students currently studying at an accredited university overseas.
You will submit your application and pay tuition fees to UQ (unless your home university arranges to pay tuition fees to UQ for you).
There are two options for study abroad at UQ:
Study abroad – 4 courses
Most students select this option as it provides the credit required by their home institution for a standard full-time semester study load.
Study abroad – 3 courses
If you need to study only 3 courses, you can choose to enrol in the 3-course program and pay a reduced tuition fee.
But you will need to check whether your home university will approve this, as the standard full-time study load at UQ is 4 courses.
