Review fees

Non-award study

University is a valuable investment in your future. Understand the costs for your study.

You'll need to pay tuition fees for each course you enrol in. Fees may be different for each course and increase annually.

To help estimate your costs, see our unit of study schedules for domestic fee-paying undergraduate students or domestic postgraduate coursework students for the year you intend to study.

To check whether your course is undergraduate or postgraduate level, look at the first number in the course code:

  • undergraduate courses start with 1–5
  • postgraduate courses start with 7 or 8.

See fee schedules

As a non-award student you aren't eligible for the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) or financial assistance from Centrelink.

You'll need to pay tuition fees. How your fee is calculated depends on your study load.

Full-time study

Usually you'll pay a flat fee for full-time non-award enrolment. The semester fee for 2023 is A$13,180.

Part-time study

You'll need to pay tuition fees to UQ for each course you enrol in. Tuition fees may be different for each course and increase annually.

To help estimate your costs, check our non-award and cross-institutional course fee schedules for international students.

You'll need the following information from the course page:

  • course discipline descriptor (the first four letters in your course code)
  • number of units.

To calculate the course fee:

  1. Find your course discipline descriptor in the relevant fee schedule.
  2. Multiply the rate per unit by the number of units for the course.
