Overview

Learn how to mobilise the Science of Learning in your educational setting.

In this third Science of Learning course, you’ll be introduced to key aspects of research methodology that will help you to research or implement research-informed practices in your educational or training context. 

You’ll learn to systematically collect, analyse, and interpret evidence in your educational setting, run purpose-built research projects, and communicate research findings. You'll learn about diverse methodologies and how multi-disciplinary studies can contribute to our understanding of how people learn. 

The course will help you to become a leader of research-informed practice – understanding the barriers and enablers for effectively mobilising knowledge from the science of learning into educational practice.

This module aligns with AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers No. 1, 3, 5 and 6.

Who should attend

Relevant undergraduate qualification.

What you'll learn

  • How to systematically gather, analyse, and interpret evidence in your educational setting.
  • Understand the concepts and skills to run purpose-built research projects, such as exploratory or evaluation studies.
  • Gain the confidence to conduct research and apply findings to your educational practices.

Time commitment

This is an online course that will require roughly 30 hours to complete.

  • Over 3 months.
  • Apply by 27 February 2024 to start on 1 March 2024. Apply by 30 July 2024 to start on 2 August 2024.

Assessment

You will need to complete a multiple-choice quiz at the end of the module.
