You're a domestic student if you are:

  • a citizen of Australia or New Zealand,
  • an Australian permanent resident, or
  • a holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

You're an international student if you are:

  • intending to study on a student visa,
  • not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand,
  • not an Australian permanent resident, or
  • a temporary resident (visa status) of Australia.

Application dates

If you're starting Year 11 in 2027:

  • applications open: 1 June 2026
  • applications close:  1 August 2026
  • an outcome on your application is emailed: Friday 21 August 2026. 
  • successful applications must be accepted by: 31 August 2026.

Welcome event date

  • October 2026 (date to be confirmed)

Camp dates

  • Year 11 Residential Camp: 11 to 14 January 2027
  • Year 12 Residential Camp: 2028

Parents and students are encouraged to attend UQ Open Day.
