If you’ve applied to study at UQ and have questions about your application, here's how to get answers.
For questions about any other aspect of studying at UQ, including program details and study plans, fees and scholarships, or starting study after you’ve accepted an offer, find other ways to contact us.
I applied through QTAC
Follow these instructions if you've submitted an application through QTAC.
Contact QTAC with any questions about your application.
Update your application
Before results are released in December, log back in to the QTAC portal to make updates to your application, such as changing or reordering your preferences, or updating your contact details.
After results are released, you'll need to contact UQ to update your application. You'll receive an email from UQ with instructions for how to do this.
Ask a question about your application
If you have a question that's directly related to your application, follow the instructions in the email you receive from UQ.
I applied through UQ applications for a coursework program
Follow these instructions if you've submitted an application for a coursework program through UQ applications.
Coursework programs include undergraduate, honours, postgraduate coursework, non-award, cross-institutional, and study abroad and exchange.
To check the status of your application:
- Log in to UQ applications.
- Go to 'My Applications'.
The status is updated in real time, so it's the best way to track the progress of your application.
You may need to add more information to your application after you submit it. You can reply to a request from us or upload documents directly in UQ applications.
Reply to a request
If you receive an email from us requesting more information, you can just reply to the email and attach documents as required.
This will be added to your application automatically.
Upload documents
You can also upload additional documents directly to your application:
- Log in to UQ applications.
- Go to 'My Documents'.
- Scroll down to the 'Attach a document to an existing application and notify the institution' section.
- Select the application you want to attach a document to and click 'Next'.
- Follow the instructions to upload your document.
If you have a question that's directly related to your application, and you haven't been able to answer it in UQ applications, send it to your unique application email address.
This includes questions about:
- application outcomes
- responding to offers (including deferring)
- updating your application (including changing preferences or adding documents).
Find your unique application email address
To send a question to your unique application email address, just reply to the confirmation email you received when you submitted your application. Search your inbox for the subject line ‘We have received your application'.
If you don't have that email, you can still work out your unique address:
- Log in to UQ applications.
- Go to 'My Applications'.
- Find the application you want to ask a question about and copy the application number.
- Add 'app-' to the beginning of your application number.
- Combine this with @admissions.uq.edu.au to create your unique application email address.
- Make sure you send your email from the email address you used on your application.

- Email address to send questions to: app-123456@admissions.uq.edu.au
I'm applying for a PhD, MPhil or professional doctorate
Follow these instructions if you've started or submitted an expression of interest (EOI) or final application for a PhD, MPhil or professional doctorate through UQ applications.
To track the status of your expression of interest (EOI) or final application:
- Log in to UQ applications.
- Go to ‘My Applications’.
The status is updated in real time, so it's the best way to track the progress of your EOI or application.
You may need to update or add more information to your expression of interest (EOI) or final application after you submit it. You can reply to a request from us or upload documents directly in UQ applications.
