Students from under-represented groups
If you're thinking about university but wondering how you'll afford it, move away from home, or get the ATAR you need, you're not alone.
At UQ, we offer support for domestic undergraduate students whose paths to university are less straightforward – from help getting into your degree to financial assistance while you study.
You might be eligible if you:
- are from a regional or remote area
- are the first in your family to go to university
- are experiencing financial hardship
- live in a low socio-economic area
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Admission schemes to help you get into UQ
If you're planning to study an undergraduate degree, Admission schemes can add extra points to your entry score (selection rank), which may improve your chances of getting into your preferred program. We consider your background and circumstances as part of your application.
You can receive up to 5 adjustment points in total.
