Request engineering, design and computing workshops and activities

Hands-on group workshops and other activities for high schools.

Request hands-on group workshops or other activities delivered by our Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology.

Choose from options for Years 8 to 12, at UQ St Lucia or your school (if you're in South East Queensland). All sessions are free.

Before you start your request, check our workshop and activity list for detailed information, including duration and student numbers.

Make sure you submit your request at least 4 weeks in advance.

We'll review your request and get back to you to finalise your booking. All activities are subject to availability.

Due to room availability, bookings at UQ St Lucia cannot be confirmed immediately:

  • for dates between 16 February and 20 June, bookings can be confirmed after 12 February 2026
  • for dates between 28 July and 31 October, bookings can be confirmed after 7 July 2026.

Some activities are only available at South East Queensland schools.

Our student-led UQ Racing team talk to your students about engineering and design, and can show their electric race car.
Workshops
You can request up to 3 workshops. Most workshops are tailored for Years 8 to 10. Advanced workshops are available for Years 11 to 12. Some workshops can only be held at UQ.

Make sure you consider whether the workshop duration will fit into the time you have available – check workshop information for details.

For bigger groups, we may be able to run multiple concurrent sessions of the same workshop.
