InspireU program
About InspireU
The InspireU Program brings Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students from across the state for a week-long camp on our St Lucia campus in Brisbane.
During the week, you'll participate in a range of interactive and fun activities led by UQ academics and our industry and community partners.
The camps are themed around the professional disciplines such as engineering, science, health sciences and more.

Program goals
Raise aspirations
InspireU is designed to raise aspirations, demystify previously held misconceptions, break down barriers about university, and ultimately empower you to not only see yourself at UQ, but also be adequately informed so that you can navigate the subject selection and application process.
Build relationships
Relationships are built between you, your community (school and local), and university staff.
The creation of these relationships contributes to and can often be attributed to a smoother transition from senior school to university.
What to expect
Connect with UQ
The InspireU programs give you the opportunity to:
- Meet UQ faculty staff and learn about their preferred degree and career discipline.
- Stay on campus at one of UQ’s colleges and experience student life at UQ.
- Participate in fun and interactive workshops and cultural activities.
- Connect with current Indigenous UQ students and learn about their university experiences.
Cost
We aim to make this program as accessible as possible.
All reasonable costs associated with attendance at the camps are covered by the University's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit (ATSISU) and our philanthropic partners.
