  • an Australian permanent resident, or
  • a holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

You're an international student if you are:

  • intending to study on a student visa,
  • not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand,
  • not an Australian permanent resident, or
  • a temporary resident (visa status) of Australia.

Getting to Gatton Open Day

Gatton is UQ’s rural campus, 10 minutes from the centre of Gatton and about an hour west of Brisbane.

Arrive by car

If you are heading west from Brisbane the Gatton campus is located on the left-hand side of the Warrego Highway and is just before the overpass (on your left).

Parking

There is lots of parking available at Gatton on Open Day. 

Parking is free, and you can park in most campus car parks, including the permit-only zones.

However, please do not park in front of the UQ VETS - Small Animal Hospital, as it's reserved for clients.

Accessible parking

Parking spaces for Persons With Disability (PWD) are reserved for people with an Australian or red disability parking permit.

Train and bus

A rail-bus service runs between Brisbane and Gatton.

  1. catch an Ipswich-Rosewood-line train from Brisbane to Rosewood station
  2. transfer onto the 539 bus to Gatton campus.

This trip takes about 2 hours.
