Overview

Learn how to lead staff at your school with practical tools and techniques.

This course will help you to grow your self-awareness and managerial ability by reflecting on your leadership behaviour. You’ll learn to:

  • identify the priorities for your school’s team culture
  • source quality literature
  • gather and assess evidence
  • take effective action to improve organisational culture.

You’ll also explore the role of supervision and leadership. 

If you’re seeking an understanding of leadership and managerial theories and how to apply them within your organisation, this course will equip you with the crucial skills you need.

Entry requirements

There are no prerequisites to enrol in this course.

What you'll learn

  • Gain a better understanding of developing inclusive education systems and the role of organisational cultures and leadership.
  • Examine the impact of school culture and leadership on teachers' learning in the workplace.
  • Reflect on approaches for navigating and generating new resources to address fractures that have emerged in workplace culture.
  • Analyse the capacity of cases – and associated problem-based learning strategies – as practical development tools for school leaders and how they can use them to facilitate their leadership development.

Time commitment

This is an online course that will require roughly 60 hours to complete.

  • 40 hours of online content.
  • 20 hours of additional study.
  • Over 3 months.
  • Apply by 27 February 2024 to start on 1 March 2024. Apply by 30 July 2024 to start on 2 August 2024.

Assessment

At the end of the module, you’ll need to submit a case study analysis on leadership and workplace culture.

Certification and accreditation

  • Showcase your capabilities with a Digital Certificate that verifies your skills and achievements.
  • Earn 1.0 points towards professional development.
