Project description

We are seeking a full-time, highly motivated PhD candidate to perform high-quality research in the field of mineral processing and chemical engineering. This scholarship is funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Enabling Eco-Efficient Beneficiation of Minerals. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team in partnership with industry partners. This project examines the complex interplay between hydrodynamics and surface chemistry in controlled turbulence environments. Particle and surface characteristics, operating parameters, and feed preparation together with reagent type and strategy will be investigated in the context of specific applications for coarse and fine particle flotation. The focus will be on the feed preparation by cavitation to enhance hydrophobicity, floatability and flotation selectivity for improving the mineral separation technology.
