Explore how archaeologists investigate, interpret and conserve the material remains of the human past.
From human evolution and ancient civilisations to Australia's deep past and contemporary heritage management, you will gain insight into how people, cultures and environments have changed over time.
Combine courses that examine the concepts and theories of archaeology with those that develop the practical skills used in contemporary archaeological and heritage practice.
A foundation of core courses introduces the key concepts and approaches of the discipline, while elective options allow you to tailor your studies to particular regions, periods or themes of interest. You can also develop specialised skills in areas such as excavation, stone artefact analysis, archaeobotany, zooarchaeology, and the reconstruction of past environments and economies.
Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management complements a wide range of studies, including anthropology, ancient history, geography, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. You can also combine it with dual degree programs in journalism, business, engineering and science.
