This speciality will prepare you to work with people of all ages who participate in sport and exercise at a range of levels, including elite and recreational athletes.
You'll improve your clinical, problem-solving and theoretical skills in preventing and managing sports and exercise-related injuries.
Focus is placed on developing specialised professional skills, including:
- advanced clinical reasoning
- assessment and differential diagnosis
- treatment planning
- exercise prescription and return to sport
- exercise decision-making.
The UQ Master of Physiotherapy (Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy) is recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, which enables graduates to become Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapists. It's also integral preparation towards progression to specialisation within the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
