Eligibility
To be eligible for this admission pathway, you must:
- list UQ as a preference on your QTAC application
- have met the program prerequisites or equivalent
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
How to apply
- On your QTAC application, you must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and list UQ as a preference.
- Complete and sign the admission pathway application form (PDF, 377.6 KB), (including a personal statement outlining why you would like to study your preferred program).
- Provide copies of the following documents:
- A Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status from an incorporated community organisation. A statutory declaration accompanied by supporting materials may be considered. Original or certified copies of CoAs and/or supporting documentation must be provided. For more information contact the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at atsisaltentry@uq.edu.au.
- Academic transcripts or certificates from previous enrolments in education courses or programs and any supporting documents relevant to your application.
- Once you have all your documentation ready and your application is complete, email it to atsisaltentry@uq.edu.au.

What happens next
Once submitted, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit (ATSISU) will process your application, ready for recommendations.
Applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their application once it has been assessed and a recommendation made.
