This course will introduce you to the big ideas, cutting-edge concepts and contemporary theories of disaster management research that exist around the world. 

Understanding this research will allow you to locate yourself within a genuinely global community of scholarship and practice. It will help you develop work-related competence in relation to the challenges of resilience building, disaster preparedness, emergency response and recovery. It will also equip you with the analytical tools to think critically about the disaster management challenges that come across your desk.
