Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the field of computer science dedicated to creating systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence.

These tasks include reasoning, learning from experience, understanding natural language, recognising patterns, making decisions and synthesising knowledge. AI systems simulate human cognition and can adapt and improve their performance over time, often by leveraging techniques like machine learning.

AI is now ubiquitous, with applications in healthcare, finance, autonomous vehicles, education and more, enabling computers to solve complex problems, automate tasks, and enhance human capabilities.

Join a growing industry

  • Artificial Intelligence is anticipated to create up to 200,000 new jobs in Australia by 2030, necessitating a 500 per cent increase in the AI workforce. (Tech Council of Australia, 2024)
  • Queensland tech workforce expanding from 140,000 to 180,000 by 2030. (Tech Council of Australia, 2025)
  • Australia’s tech workforce is projected to grow to 1.2 million jobs by 2030, making it one of the country’s fastest-growing and highest-paid industries. (Tech Council of Australia, May 2023)
