Overcoming Cyber Risks

Overview

Gain critical skills to understand and navigate the legal and managerial dimensions of cybersecurity in your organisation.

Designed for non-cyber professionals, this course provides practical strategies to protect against the significant reputational, financial and operational risks posed by cyber incidents.

Participants will learn how to communicate confidently on cybersecurity issues at all organisational levels, including with executives and board members, becoming influential advocates for a cyber-resilient culture.

Who should attend

This course is ideal for managers, team leaders and professionals across industries who want to understand and contribute to their organisation’s cybersecurity practices.

It is especially relevant for those outside of dedicated cybersecurity roles who need to be prepared to mitigate cyber risks and communicate effectively on cyber-related issues.

There are no prerequisites needed for this course.

What you'll learn

  • Cybersecurity fundamentals: Gain essential knowledge of cybersecurity basics, governance, and policies, along with an understanding of legal implications and privacy laws.
  • Risk management: Learn strategies for managing cyber risks within enterprise risk frameworks, including crisis response and vendor oversight.
  • Leadership in cybersecurity: Build confidence to lead cybersecurity discussions across your organisation, from team members to executive leaders.
  • Practical application: Apply skills through a final, optional Tabletop Exercise that simulates a cybersecurity incident, reinforcing response strategies and decision-making.

Assessment

This course includes an optional, final Tabletop Exercise for hands-on application of key concepts in a simulated cyber scenario. Completing this activity will make you eligible to receive your digital Credly badge.
