UQ people
Published 22 Jul, 2026  ·  1-minute read

Hi, my name is Ebrahim Khalil. I'm from Ad Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I studied Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland. I was also a UQ International Ambassador and a Brisbane International Student Ambassador.

Why did you decide to study in Australia and specifically at UQ?

I chose UQ because of its reputation and quality of teaching, and to give me a better chance to get a good job.

What do you like most about UQ?

UQ keeps improving its facilities every semester. It provides students with excellent knowledge and helps them improve their skills.

What have your experiences with the Brisbane community been like?

One of my first impressions of Brisbane was the warmth of the people I met at the airport.

Their friendly smiles made me feel comfortable and gave me a sense of belonging from the very beginning.
