Risk Management Part 3

G2 Risk Management for Supervisors

Overview

Advance your knowledge and experience with the application, review and supervision of frontline risk assessment and risk control activities.

This course is part of the Global Minerals Industry Risk Management program (G-MIRM) suite of courses.

The G2 Risk Management for Supervisors short course is accredited against the industry units of competency:

  • RIIRIS402E: Carry out the risk management process
  • RIIRIS301E: Apply risk management processes.

If you complete this course and achieve competency in all assessments within 6 months of completion, you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning to receive RIIRIS402E and RIIRIS301E units of competency from UQ Skills (RTO #1511).

Entry requirements

There are no compulsory prerequisites for this course.

What you'll learn

Through class and group activities you will learn:

  • How to describe the purpose and core processes (as per ISO31000 and ICMM Critical Control Management) for managing work-related risks.
  • How to perform and critique risk assessment systems and risk assessments associated with the management of work/task-related risks.
  • How to perform and critique risk control selection, monitoring and response.
  • How to review and identify options for improving the execution of risk management activities.

Time commitment

This is an in-person course that will require roughly 21 hours to complete.

  • 2-day in-person workshop (8 hours per day), includes time to complete some of the assessment requirements
  • 5 hours to complete and submit the assessment requirements for the course

Course curriculum

Assessment

You will need to submit 3 assessment pieces within 6 months of completing this course and achieve competency in each to be eligible to apply for RIIRIS402E and RIIRIS301E units of competency from UQ Skills (RTO #1511).

Be aware that simply attending this course will not satisfy the units of competency.

Certification and accreditation

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion to verify their skills and achievements.
