Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Language Revitalisation
Overview
Develop your skills to revitalise the rich and diverse First Nations Languages in your Community, and for future generations.
Designed by Indigenous Language specialists exclusively for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, this program offers a respectful forum to learn new skills and perspectives from national and international Indigenous Language Revitalisation practice and network with leading and emergent Language revitalisation experts.
You'll develop the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to analyse, research, teach and learn your Language, while building a critical awareness of the social, cultural and political issues important to Languages, Language advocates and Language professionals.
You’ll strengthen your project design and management skills by creating community-focused Language research and resources for use in your own Language context.
Indigenous Language revitalisation is a valuable and rewarding field and growing employment opportunities exist in a wide range of settings. Language teachers are in great demand in early-childhood centres, schools and community settings, and a host of dynamic industries - cultural heritage, the arts and Language centres, the galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM) sector, interpreting and translating services and Land and Sea management programs to name a few.
