This speciality will prepare you to improve the clinical outcomes and quality of life of people of all ages affected by musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities.
You'll improve your clinical, problem-solving and theoretical skills in preventing and managing musculoskeletal injuries.
Focus is placed on developing specialised professional skills, including:
- advanced clinical reasoning
- assessment and differential diagnosis
- treatment planning
- patient education
- exercise and physical therapies
- return to work/daily activities.
You'll also develop skills in understanding and applying research evidence to clinical practice.
The UQ Master of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy) is recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, which enables graduates to become Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists. It is also integral preparation towards progression to specialisation within the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
