This customisable, interdisciplinary program utilises UQ's leading position in science commercialisation to provide you with a safe place to develop, test and implement new ideas.
In the capstone course, you’ll gain practical experience by working on your own idea or ground-breaking technologies developed by partner organisations. You will create a business model based on in-depth customer interviews, rapid prototyping and agile development.
This globally recognised qualification will be highly regarded by employers. You'll graduate with the skills to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship within any industry, from a corporation, startup or research organisation to the public sector.
Also offered as a 6-month Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Placements and work experience
EIBS7311 Lean Start for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) capstone course that equips you with practical experience in applying the Lean LaunchPad method to transform ideas into successful innovations. Working on your own idea or real-world technologies from partner organisations, you will engage in customer interviews, rapid prototyping and agile development to create a viable business model. Through collaboration and shared learning, you will gain hands-on experience in minimising risks and solving real customer problems.
RBUS7999 is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course that provides you with the opportunity to apply the concepts and tools you learn in real-world contexts. Via a professional placement within an existing business, you will be able to develop employability skills, gain workplace knowledge, grow a professional network, and engage with real challenges faced by working professionals.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements
To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or
- the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from UQ (or equivalent), or
- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 3 years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience, or
- the UQx Corporate Innovation MicroMasters® credential with 65% in the Corporate Innovation Capstone Assessment, plus three years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience.
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.

- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 3 years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience, or

Relevant work experience
Relevant work experience includes work in: biotechnology, business, commerce, commercialisation, computer science, data analytics, economics, energy, engineering (business administration), entrepreneurship, environmental management, food sciences, health services/health practitioners, international development or international relations, information systems, innovation, management, science, strategy, sustainability and technology (agricultural, information, nano, bio).
GPA equivalent

Student visas
International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa (subclass 500).
