Bachelor of Computer Science

Overview

Build intelligent, secure and ethical digital systems.

Digital systems shape how we live, work and solve problems, and computer scientists are designing what comes next.

This 3-year program gives you the technical foundations to create technology that is powerful, ethical and resilient, with skills that are in demand across industries and borders.

Across your degree, you’ll learn how to design intelligent systems, solve complex problems at scale, protect critical digital infrastructure, and turn data into insight and action.

You’ll build the foundations employers trust, including programming, algorithms, systems and security, then specialise in areas where demand is accelerating, including AI, cyber security, data science or programming theory.

From your first year, you’ll learn how computer systems work and how to write, test and improve software. Through lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and project-based learning, you’ll apply your skills to practical challenges across fields such as health, education, finance, climate and defence.

You'll graduate with global credibility, with a degree accredited by the Australian Computer Society. The Bachelor of Computer Science can lead to roles in software development, AI, cyber security, data science, systems engineering or technical consulting, with pathways into honours and postgraduate study.
