Bachelors of Economics / Science
Overview
Gain a strong foundation in economic theories and principles, along with scientific theory and practical skills in your chosen science major, by combining these 2 areas of study in a dual degree.
Economics is more than just markets, models and capital. It’s the study of how people and organisations make decisions about using our scarce resources.
When you combine the ability to question, analyse, model and predict human behaviour with the interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skills of scientific training, you'll graduate with a respected, desirable qualification.
When this program is studied at a standard load of 4 courses per semester, the final semester will comprise part-time study of only 2 courses. You may decide to overload in your initial semesters or complete a summer semester to reduce the total duration of the program.

The best things about the Bachelor of Economics would be the practicality and the versatility – how it further prepares us to be analytical individuals ready for the corporate world. The program ensures all students obtain a holistic understanding of economics; be it macro, micro, or analytical skills and so much more.

I love learning about how economies function around the world and higher education is a way to give back to my family and community. Educated mob means a mob that can make change in the current society structure.

I absolutely loved the field trips that were part of my degree – especially the trip to UQ’s Research Station at Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef.
